Dr. Catherine Aczel Boivie is a widely respected executive with over 20 years of experience in the leadership of advancing the value of information technology as a business enabler. Catherine is the Executive in Residence at the Beedie School of Business and at Simon Fraser University, the Founding President of CIOCAN. Prior executive roles include: SVP of IT and Facility Management for Vancity Credit Union; SVP of IT at Pacific Blue Cross.
Catherine is an experienced board member serving on several boards: Insurance Corporation of B.C. , Arts Club Theatre, Burnaby Board of Trade, MedicAlert and Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). She has been publicly recognized for her contributions, including the University of Waterloo Mathematics Alumni Achievement Medal, she was named one of Canada's top 100 most powerful women by the Women's Executive Network in the "Trailblazers and Trendsetters" category and has received the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal for being a "catalyst for technology transformation".
